Property Market

What do you think of the property market at the moment? I am wondering what the best thing is to do. I really need a bit more space for my growing family but love where I live. Although I know there are some fantastic properties around such as these Asheville townhomes I have been looking at but I love my current neighbourhood. It is fantastic for work and schools but there are no bigger houses in the neighbourhood. I have been considering whether to expand my current property. There is no room in front or behind and it is a terraced property so there is no room there either. I cannot go down as the building is on piles due to the closeness to the river so the only way is up! The problem is that I already have 3 floor with a kitchen diner and cloakroom on the ground floor, sitting room, play room and office on the middle floor and two bedrooms and bathroom on the top floor. I am considering turning the loft space into storage and office space, incorporating the office in to the sitting room to make it bigger and making the play room and third bedroom. There is no bathroom on that floor but there is one above and below so I think it will be okay. This work will be really expensive and so I am trying to decide whether the Real estate in Asheville is a better place to put my money. It is so hard as it is not just a financial decision but a choice as to what is best for the family as well. I have to try to predict what the needs of the children will be as they get older and whether what I am planning will suit them. I am making sure that I discuss it with a lot of my friends and family before I make my final decision.
